PPC Carla Gaul

I became a member of the Saint Cecilia Cathedral Parish Pastoral Council in 2016.

I grew up on a farm near Earling, Iowa, an all-Catholic community in Shelby County and moved to Omaha after high school. After a year of business college, I began working as a medical secretary at the University of Nebraska Medical Center.

I have been a member of the Saint Cecilia Cathedral Parish since the 1970’s. I am a Eucharistic Minister of Holy Communion and a Lector. I retired from UNMC in January 2016, and at that time was invited by another parishioner to become a member of the Parish Pastoral Council.

I also became a volunteer at UNMC and now assist in bringing Communion to patients in the hospital. I would say the Mass energizes me the most in my faith.

My sister and I own a home in the Cathedral neighborhood, and my interests include dogs, cats, horses, and flowers.
